After playing the wait and watch game, Raja Chaudhary was finally admitted to Arogya Nidhi hospital yesterday. The actor has been diagnosed with a severe liver infection due to which he’s unable to stand up. This illness will definitely affect the couple’s chances of winning the Nach Baliye contest.

Tough time
Giving details, Shweta Tiwari says, “The doctors have given him injections, but there hasn’t been any major improvement in his health. They’ve now advised him to get admitted to hospital.”

The couple is scheduled to perform in the Regional Round today, which will air next Monday. But Shweta says she’s unsure about what will happen. “I don’t want to compromise on Raja’s health under any situation. He is my number one priority. The only thing that saddens me is the fact that he wanted to give a tough fight till the very end.”

Did she have a word with the channel? Shweta says, “They have asked us to perform together by making him stand in the background and doing less movements. He has to come on stage, no matter what. I don’t know if this will work in our favour or not.”

Shailja Kejriwal, creative head with Star says, “I hope and pray that Raja gets better. I will take a call on the situation today when the time for their performance nears.”

Raja Chaudhary and Shweta Tiwari with their daughter Palak
There have been many injuries and accidents through out the episodes of Nach Baliye 2. And the latest victim is Raja Chaudhary.

According to a source, the Nach Baliye 2 contestant was about to be admitted to Arogya Nidhi hospital in Juhu after he complained of some pain in his abdomen. A check up revealed that Raja was suffering from a serious liver infection and requires medical attention and care.

Testing times

When we got in touch with his wife Shweta, she sounded distraught, “I am very stressed. Raja complained of some pain and the doctors said it a liver infection. Apparently, there’s also some pus in his liver. He needs immediate medical attention. We have decided to admit him in Arogya Nidhi where one of the doctors from Lilavati will keep him under observation.”

We spoke to the actress again after a few hours and she was still at the clinic. She revealed that Raja might not need to be admitted after all. “He doesn’t have to be admitted yet. They have given him an injection and are monitoring the situation. If he doesn’t feel better by this evening then we will have to get him admitted.”

Bowing out

A source close to the couple added that despite his medical problem, Raja was depressed thinking of the possibility of bowing out of Nach Baliye 2. “He has just come back through the Wild Card round and it would be a pity if he had to leave the show now. However, he wants to remain positive and hopes everything works out. Shweta, too, is very upset.”

Confirming Raja’s fears, Shweta added, “The thought of losing the competition is terrible, that too when you have come so close. I hope his condition improves and we are able to perform together.”

When asked if she’d spoken to the channel and sought an alternative way? She said, “At the moment, I am waiting for the test results. Once they are in, we’ll plan the next step.”

Shweta who is just recovering from an eye infection sounded dejected, “It’s our bad luck that we have to go through all this after coming back. I don’t know what is going to happen. We haven’t really taken any decision.”

Guess who?

SHOWBUZZ NETWORK

The excitement and curiosity to know about which jodi will make a wild card entry in Nach Baliye 2 has reached an irresistible levels. Monday’s episode will witness about who is in and who is out of the competition. Thus, we spoke to the participants got were eliminated and are waiting to make a come back and give yet another exciting performance.
Raja said, “I had earlier received the highest points in the wild card entry so this time I think the chances are 50:50. If I do make a come back, I’ll really have to work harder as the competition would get even tougher.” When asked about the songs on which he would perform, he replied, “Most probably the song would be from the film, Taal.” Shweta Tiwari said, “Shweta tum vapas aayogi still echoes into my ears, so I hope I make a come back on the show. It was such a beautiful and exciting experience where every performance used to be a challenge”.
Ketaki Dave said, “I am really disappointed as our chances of coming back are minimal.” She further revealed, “The Reliance number allotted to our jodi was not working from Monday night till Tuesday morning, due to technical fault. Hence we lost lots of votes.” When asked about the overall experience on the show, Ketaki said, “I enjoyed every bit of it and it was a learning experience for me. Also if our jodi will make a comeback, it is going to be a tough competition ahead, till the finals.” Arjun Punjj said,  “I don’t think we would make a come back and even if I do, I won’t be able to do the justice with my performance as I am busy with my new show and also with the wedding preparations round the corner. Nevertheless we enjoyed the show very much and I would like to thank the producers for giving an opportunity to work with our real life partners.”
Narayani Shastri said, “I had lots of fun during the actual performances. Whether I would make a comeback is an altogether different issue. I participated just because enjoy dancing.” Narayani gives full credit to the Nach Baliye’s rehearsals for her new looks. “I have shed a lot of weight for which I am getting loads of compliments.”
Keerti Gaekwad said, “I do not think we have much chance to come back in the show. But overall it was nice experience as I got to spend time with my partner and enjoyed the performances.” When asked if she would love to be a part of such dance shows further, she said, “Definitely but not in a show where I will have to perform for marks or votes.” Sharad Kelkar said, “The chances of we making a comeback are very less. Some one is bound to lose or win, as it is a part of the game.

Wildcard entry for Raja, Shweta

Wildcard entry for Raja, Shweta By: Vickey Lalwani
modest return: Shweta Tiwari and Raja Chaudhary The suspense is over. Shweta Tiwari and Raja Chaudhary are the Wildcard Round winners on Nach Baliye 2. Earlier ousted by their co-contestants, the couple scored 29 points during the Wildcard episode, featuring alongside other also-rans like Narayani-Gaurav, Ketaki-Rasik, Gurdip-Arjun and Keerti-Sharad. Gut feeling An elated Raja says, “We had a gut feeling that we would be back.” Shweta chooses to put it diplomatically. “I think it was a three-horse race. Ketaki-Rasik and Narayani-Gaurav could have pipped us. In fact, I heard that Narayani-Gaurav garnered a lot of votes.” While Raja headed straight to his shoot (for the DD serial Gam Hai Na), Shweta sped off to Urban Tadka in Kandivali along with her daughter and mother. “We had dinner there and had lots of fun. Our choreographer Sagar and his assistant also joined us,” enthuses the actress. The couple did not have an easy time, though. Shweta developed an eye infection as she hadn’t removed her contact lenses for four days. Blurred victory She had to dance without her lenses instead. “She couldn’t wear spectacles because it would have been very inconvenient,” says Raja. Explaining her eye infection, Shweta says, “I was shooting and practicing simultaneously, and had not slept properly. Soon, my eye developed red patches. The eye specialist who treated me said if I had come to him 12 hours later, my vision would have been seriously affected.” So what did Shweta do when she learnt about their comeback? “Nothing! I couldn’t see Raja when I moved away from him while dancing, and I couldn’t see the judges while I waited for their points. So basically, I couldn’t react to anything!” The duo is now optimistic of winning the title. “I can’t say if we will win or not. It’s not going to be easy. But yes, we’ll put our best foot forward,” says Raja. The not-so-lucky ones Narayani Shastri: Shweta’s re-entry was a foregone conclusion. Gaurav and I are not surprised. I don’t want to get into whether it was fair or unfair. At the end of the day, a show is being made. It’s business. They know who to promote and who not to promote. I had fun and I got paid for it. That’s how I would like to remember this. I was never emotionally involved with Nach Baliye. So where’s the question of feeling hurt? Rasik Dave: Shweta is very popular and a terrific dancer. Some of the steps are shown to her just minutes before her performance and she has no problems emulating them with perfection. Dancing comes naturally to her, so she deserves to be back. In fact, when she was eliminated, I called her to say that Ketaki and I stood no chance of returning to the competition. Narayani and Gaurav had a good chance, but they were a bit too aggressive. We had a chance but the Reliance problem spoilt it all. Saroj Khan asked me if I knew those who were responsible for it. I told her that if I knew, I would have filed a police complaint. Gurdip Kohli: Raja is not a great dancer, but Shweta covers up for him extremely well. She is a terrific dancer. We all had a gut feeling that Shweta and Raja would be the Wildcard winners. Keerti Gaekwad: Shweta and Raja scored the highest points from the judges, and I knew they would make it. But from the bottom of my heart, I wanted Narayani and Gaurav to return.

Who will be the wild card entry?

working on our sincerity: Sharad and Keerti Kelkar logic? what’s that? Narayani Shastri and Gaurav Chopraa love will see us through: Arjun Punjj and Gurdip Kohli abhi toh hum jawaan hain: Ketaki and Rasik Dave
Star One’s Nach Baliye 2 is exactly at the half-way mark. The next point of interest in the show is: Which eliminated jodi will return, courtesy the wild card? Will it be Gaurav and Narayani, whose ouster exposed the illogical format of the show? Or will it be Sharad and Keerti, whose choreographer (Kiran) accused them of insincerity? The old warhorses, Rasik and Ketki, or the madly in love Arjun and Gurdip? Or will it be one of Star’s favourite bahus, Shweta and hubby Raja? The shoot for the wild card round was completed yesterday, and contestants who are still in the fray, were a part of the audience.

Gujju pride
The episode will be telecast on Monday. Thereafter, voting lines will be open to decide which couple will return. However, the public will account for only 30 per cent mandate, while the judges’ marks will play a major role in deciding the outcome.

No jodi had left any stone unturned in its preparations. Clearly, none of the contestants have lost interest in the contest or the prize money. Keerti and Sharad were so immersed in getting their act right that they didn’t respond to calls. Rasik was virtually out of breath when he reverted back to us at midnight on Tuesday, saying, “Today, we have practised for 10 hours. Earlier, we were putting in six hours every day. We want to come back. Our Gujarati community pumped in few votes the last time since they were busy with Navratri. This time, I want them to vote for us in a big way. There is a Gujju feel in our performance.”

can’t afford to be shy: Raja Chaudhary and Shweta Tiwari

Out in the open
Raja is out to prove that he is good at Western dancing, which he incorporated in their performance. Said Shweta, “Raja has worked very hard, but I hardly got time due to my TV and radio assignments. At times, my choreographer would land up on the Balaji set to make me do a few steps! I have hardly slept since the past few days.”

Raja revealed that the couple had to throw shyness to the winds considering they even practised in front of their car in Madh Island (where their Bhojpuri film is being shot). He said, “We would play the music on the car deck and start dancing. We can’t afford to be shy.”

Public appeal
After last week’s elimination, Arjun Punjj said that he and Gurdip hadn’t had much time to prepare their dance but claimed that they weren’t worried. He said, “We have tried many aspects of dancing in this episode.”
Narayani offered, “We will be as dignified as before, but will say a lot to the viewers through this act.”

Gaurav chipped in, “You can say that we are out to make a statement this time. Our’s is a personalised performance, and not a filmi hero-heroine based one.”

Judges speak: Who should return

Kunal Kohli
Gaurav and Narayani were voted out because they were good, but they have competition now. Raja and Shweta are good, Arjun and Gurdip are not bad, Rasik and Ketki are capable of upsetting the applecart. Kuch kaha nahin ja sakta. The couple I give the highest marks to is the couple I would like see back on the show.

Malaika Arora

Shweta is a terrific dancer, while Gaurav and Narayani didn’t deserve to be voted out.

I will decide only after I see their performances

Saroj Khan
