Television actor Shweta Tiwari’s (Prerna of Kasautii Zindagi Kay) husband Raja Chaudhary seems to have geared up post his ailment that struck him during ‘Nach Baliye 2’. Raja, who was being treated for liver abscess is fitter today and is producing a film that will explore the relationship between cars and human beings.
Raja says, “This film will be called ‘The Second Owner’.

It is the story of a car which experiences emotions like a human being does and shares its feelings with other cars. Car is the heroine of my film. It will not be an animation film; instead we will have popular celebrities doing the voiceover to depict the car’s characters. I am in conversation with Malaika Arora to lend her voice for the main car’s character.”

Raja says, “It is not possible to make this film with a medium budget. It will be a mainstream commercial film. It will be a sensitive film underlined with subtle comedy. We will need lots of cars for this film. We contacted a racer who is a part of professional racers group called Dragstar Team. He will be providing us imported cars for the same. We also got in touch with an automobile engineer will modify the cars for us.”

So what made Raja think of producing a film on car’s sentiments? “My friend and I were discussing cars. This film was just an idea at that time but I decided to develop it further. It is based on the real life story of someone I know well,” he shares.

Raja is looking at Bollywood biggies to act in this film along with Shweta. “I hope Shweta gives me dates,” he laughs. His production company has recently completed the shooting of their Bhojpuri film with Ravi Kissen and Shweta in he lead

Parsi Look for Prerna

Parsi look for Prerna!

And It Drags On And On…: Shweta Tiwari

From being the affectionate Prerna Bajaj to the stern headmistress of a gurukul, this is how Ekta Kapoor will depict the new generation leap in Kasautii Zindagii Kay.

Now a widow, Prerna will be draped in chiffon sarees with Parsi gara work on the fabric.

Keeping her new character in mind, designer Nim Sood has used only pastel colours and accentuated it with minimum jewellery.

Instead of dangly earrings and colourful bangles, she will now be seen wearing antique jewellery studded with semi-precious stones like emeralds and rubies.

Prerna’s look will be complete with a flower on her French roll hairdo and a brooch pinned to her saree.

Overall, Prerna Bajaj will now be seen in a simple yet refined look. (But why won’t the show end on a logical note?)

Cezanne Out at Last - the hunt is on for a new Prerna

Out… at last!

Cezanne Khan is finally out of Kasautii Zindagii Kay.Men will be marginalised in the show now. And yes, Sweta Tiwari will play a character similar to Big B’s in Mohabbatein!

SUBHASH K JHA

Last Monday Cezanne Khan’s character was finally bumped off on the long-running Kasautii Zindagii Kay, after weeks of dilly-dallying. Says a source at Balaji, “Like Iqbal Khan, Cezanne is hoping for better prospects. He thinks he has a movie career waiting for him. So, without a single offer from films Cezanne decided to quit.” Without commenting on reasons for Cezanne’s departure from Kasautii…, Ekta Kapoor says, “I didn’t really need him on the show any more. Ronit Roy too will take a break. The men will now be marginalised on Kasautii… Prerna (Shweta Tiwari) will be setting up a gurukul. After Anurag’s death Prerna will now be up against men.”
Prerna’s character will replicate Amitabh Bachchan in Aditya Chopra’s Mohabbatein. Reveals Ekta, “Prerna has seven grand-daughters and she runs a gurukul where men aren’t allowed. And the girls aren’t allowed to meets boys. Prerna has brought them up without the presence of the opposite sex.”
The hunt is on for a new Prerna. “She’ll be the eldest grand daughter. We’re casting for Kasautii Ki Nayi Prerna.”
Ekta is all praise for Sweta Tiwari. “She’s so young and she looks like a Vogue model. She’s drop-dead gorgeous. And she isn’t afraid of playing a grandmother.”

Kasauti Leaps Yet Again!

NO grey matter: Prerna (Shweta Tiwari) as she will be seen post Kasautii’s leap
On April 30, Balaji’s long-running Kasautii Zindagii Kay on Star Plus will take yet another generation leap.

We bring you some exclusive snippets on what to expect in the coming days.

Storyline

The episode begins with Prerna’s introduction at the Kumbh Mela.

After 20 years, Prerna has changed completely. She does not believe in love anymore because love has only caused her pain.

So she has set up a Gurukul college where, along with other students, her eight grandchildren study.

Her eight grandchildren consist of seven girls and one boy.
The eldest grandchild is Sneha and Omy’s child.

She will play a very important character in the show and will take on the mantle from Prerna.

Prerna does not want the concept of love to enter her Gurukul ever. The walls of the college are high for them so that nobody can interact with the outside world.

Hiten Tejwani makes his entry into Kasautii post the generation leap. His character’s name is Abhishek Bhattacharya.

Pre-gen leap

On April 19, the shootout sequence of Anurag Basu (Cezanne Khan) was shot with snowfall at a place in Panchmeshwar.

This episode went on air on Akshay Tritiya, which according to astrology is the beginning of a yug.

When anything that begins on this day does not end, this becomes the catalyst for the generation leap. Incidentally, Cezanne will no longer feature in the soap.

It is learnt that he will soon be taking up a Pakistani serial.

Shweta Tiwari has 17% ad-share right behind Aishwarya Rai!

S tar power is fuelling a new trend in the realty sector. Now, construction companies are roping in celebrities to build a strong brand image. And it’s not just filmstars, but cricketers, TV actors and even musicians have joined the “real estate” bandwagon as brand ambassadors. RUNNING CHARM So, if Yuvraj Singh hits it off with LVL City, S. Sreesanth runs ahead for the Kochi-based Mather Builders. The latest firm to take a “distinguished” route is Omaxe Ltd, which has signed up sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and his sons Amaan and Ayaan.

“Celebrity endorsements act like a never ending charm. If a celeb’s personality and the positioning of brand blend well, then it definitely creates a trigger point. But a star should not override the product or brand and must never be used as mere gimmick to gain instant publicity,” says Amitabh Bhattacharya, vice-president, Omaxe Limited. BUILDING TRUST In fact, property developers are reaching new heights to drive their growth rapidly. While Bollywood king Shah Rukh Khan dons a new role for DLF, Rahul Dravid bats for Skyline Housing and Construction Pvt. Ltd. Similarly, actress Preeti Jhangiani espouses LVL City and legendary Kapil Dev backs the Chadha Group.

“Shah Rukh suits our brand perfectly. People admire him and, most importantly, he is loved by masses as well as classes,” says Shalini Wadhwa of DLF.

“Celebrities bring a psychological advantage as their trust factor spills onto the company as well,” she adds. The company will soon air its new advertisement featuring SRK once its IPO gets a green signal. SOARING SALES Few months back, even Amitabh Bachchan could be seen inviting people to buy property at the hi-end resi dential township, Amby Valley outside Mumbai, by the Sahara Group. Newly-married actress Perizaad Zorabian too was the face of AEZ Group till recently. Telly star Shweta Tiwari, better-known as Prerna of Kasautii Zindagii Kay, also promoted Gaursons for a long time. But does the star power translate into heavy trade? “If the brand and celeb gel together, it surely augurs sales,” says Bhattacharya. “Our ad film with the Khans was an instant hit not only with the A/A+ target buyers, but also had a strong impact across various groups,” he informs.

CLUTTER BREAKER The perfect ambassador brings in two advantages for a brand. First, a celebrity gives the product greater recognition among the target audience since a large number of people know the person. Secondly, it gives the brand a personality to form a quick connect with the customer. Plus, it increases the brand acceptability in a major way. “Since all real estate ad campaigns look the same, celebrities are the best bet to break clutter. Then, it also helps a brand gain credibility and respect,” says Ashutosh Khanna, chief operating officer, Grey Worldwide. AGGRESSIVE MARKETING In fact, the property sector, largely seen as unprofessional and disorganised, is now trying to build a positive image. According to a study by AdEx India, there has been a rise of 65 per cent in print ad volumes of the sector in 2006.

Similarly, it saw nearly four times growth in ad volumes on television. During the same period, new entrants constituted 45 per cent of the real estate advertisers in print. “Realty sector has become fiercely competitive with its growing economy. And as a product, it also needs aggressive and scientific method of marketing,” says Siddhartha Mukherjee of TAM Media Research.

So, the next time you plan to buy a new home, pay heed to your superstar’s advice. Happy buying.

GLAMOUR QUOTIENT In 2006, superstar Shah Rukh Khan (endorsing DLF Group) had the maximum advertising share (35 per cent) followed by Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai (endorsing Amby Valley City) with 23 per cent and 21 per cent share respectively. And interestingly, Shweta Tiwari (Prerna) gave a tough fight to Bachchan bahu with 17 per cent share while Mona Singh, better-known as Jassi, had a three per cent share.

shweta to go on a vacation with family in may

It is summer time, exams are over and schools are closed for the summer vacations. It’s time to pack the suitcases, and go for a long family holiday trip outside the city. This is a regular routine schedule for all kids. Do kids who have well known actors as their parents get the chance to go for summer holidays with their celebrity parents?

Most of these celebrity parents are very busy. But still most do manage to take time off and take their kids for holidays.

Here are some stars talking about their kids and their holiday destinations.

Raja Chaudhary (Husband of Shweta Tiwari) says: ” My daughter Palak’s ( in Std 1) holidays are starting from 1st May, so we will be going out of India for our vacation. We will be going to Hong Kong or Disneyland. She is very fond of Disney. She is crazy for games so Disney is a good destination for her. We are planning our holiday in a way that Shweta can also come with us. This is not Palak’s first trip to abroad. Before this we went to Malaysia. But at that time she was only two years old. However when we recently visited Goa, she enjoyed the beaches and we bought toys and Barbie Doll for her. She likes to go out of India.”

“I still remember one incident when I first time took her to Madh Island. I had booked a resort there for her. That was the first time we both went together. She enjoys water games, swimming a lot. This time she wants to visit Disney club. She likes every character of Disney.”

Raja Chaudhary’s new love is a car

Raja Chaudhary’s new love is a car…
By: Shaheen Parkar
April 11, 2007
——————————————————————————–

all about my ‘heroine’: Raja Chaudhary
After his debut as a filmmaker with the Bhojpuri flick Hamar Saiyyan Hindustani, Raja Chaudhary is all set to roll a Hinglish film titled My Second Honour.

The film goes on floors on April 15, starring wife and telly actress Shweta Tiwari, newcomer Sameer Sayed and himself.

But playing the lead role in My Second Honour will be Raja’s own car, a Toyota Trueno, which will be specially modified for the project.

Car enthusiast

Claims Raja, “I am a motor enthusiast and we own five cars — a Mercedes Benz, a Toyota Corolla, a Skoda Octavia, a Ford Jeep and the Toyota Trueno.

My Second Honour, as the title implies, is about a man and his car. There is a special bond between them. And I have managed to get both my loves — my wife and my car — in the film,” laughs Raja.

My Second Honour has been penned by Saurabh Bharadwaj and will be directed by Dharmendra Singh. It will be produced under Raja’s banner, Palak Creations (named after his daughter).

A central part of the film will be a bunch of Mumbai speedsters called the Team Drag Stars. “Mihir Dharker, who is at the helm of this car racing group, will also be in the film; the group will play itself.”

‘Feeling’ the heat

A model of the Toyota Trueno (for representational purpose only)
Raja’s first schedule will be shot on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway.

“The main heroine of the film is the car.

It has feelings, it can see and sense things too, but there are no special effects so the car will not be seen flying and things like that! I am in talks with the folks at Toyota for their support in the project,” says Raja.

And his film, he insists, is not inspired by Abbas Mustan’s Tarzan — The Wonder Car. “It is not at all like that film.

Tarzan was a wonder car. My car is humane, with feelings, et al. It is a special story about a man and his car.

I am sure there are several men who view their cars as the real beauties in their lives; this film is for them and for people to understand the special bond between a man and his machine.”

Name calling

Raja Chaudhary and his daughter Palak have coined special terms for all the cars they own.

The Merc is called ‘White Beauty’ (as it is white in colour), The Ford jeep is called ‘Truck’ (as it is a 4×4 open vehicle).

“My daughter loves this car and insists that I drop her to school in it,” says Raja.

“The Skoda Octavia is simply called Skoda and the Toyota Corolla is called Toyota as we still haven’t figured out what to call them.”

But the pride of the family is the two-door Toyota Trueno, loving called ‘Heroine’ — the reason why she is in Raja’s film!
